What is E-ZPass?

E-ZPass is an electronic toll collection system that allows vehicles to pay their tolls without stopping. E-ZPass is operational in Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and West Virginia.

How Does E-ZPass Work?

E-ZPAss transponders are the size of a deck of cards and are generally mounted with adhesive strips to the interior of a vehicle windshield. Customers create a prepaid account and add money to it. Each time a customer drives through an E-ZPass equipped lane, the toll is automatically deducted from their prepaid account.

What is E-ZPass "On-The-Go"?

E-ZPass "On-The-Go" is a toll transponder distributed through retail stores. Customers can register their transponders online, by phone, or in person.

Registration information is included inside the "On-The-Go" package.

"On-The-Go" is available for most passenger cars. It will not work on a few vehicles such as those equipped with special windshields that contain metal.
